7.1.1 Measures initiated by the Institution for the promotion of gender equity and Institutional initiatives to celebrate / organize national and international commemorative days, events and festivals during the last five years (Within 500 words) (10)
🔅 Basically,the percentage of girls in the college is more than Boys.
🔅That is why the environment in the college is such that girls feel safe in the college premises.
🔅Still, for safety reasons,50 CCTV cameras are installed at different places in the college.
🔅The footage is checked whenever needed.
🔅The college has single entry gate where security guard is appointed who checks identity cards before students’ entry into the college.
🔅The codes of conducts for students are displayed at important places in the premises.
🔅 Disciplinary committee also spreads awareness about the rules and regulations for students.
🔅Veranda,in front of the classrooms, is kept spacious to avoid the crowd of students.
🔅The staircases of the college building are large enough to occupy girl and boy students at the same time. The veranda is supervised on regular basis so as to maintain discipline.
🔅The provision of separate ladies room with sanitary pad machine is made for girls in the college.
🔅Separate wash room with destroy machine is also provided for girls.
🔅The college has ladies hostel where the rector is appointed for security of girl students.
🔅Drinking Water tanks are installed at various places.
🔅A separate book issue facility is provided for girls in the library along with separate study room.
🔅In order to create awareness about women empowerment, health, education, self-defence & sex education, different awareness programs are arranged on regular basis.
🔅When a girl complaints on some issue, her identity is not disclosed. Internal Grievance Redress Committee, Anti-ragging committee and Discipline committee are formed to solve the problems of girl students.
🔅In front of the office, grievance redress box is placed for girls to lodge their complaints. The box is checked twice a month.
🔅There is a separate NCC unit for girls.
🔅Female faculties are respected in the college.
🔅Women are important part of the society and hence, efforts are made from the point of view of establishing gender equity in the college. The college strives for the safety of girls.
🔅To make the students aware that the college is a knowledge complex and to create an educational environment in the college through the celebration of National-International days, birth and death anniversaries of various leaders, social reformers who contributed in nation building, cultural programs & festivals.
